Elena was born in Ukraine, and from a very young age she was introduced to arts which later turned into passion for art as an adult. After getting an Art/Design Diploma Elena went on to complete a 5-year Masters program in Fine Arts at the International University of Dnepropetrovsk. In Ukraine Elena taught art and visual geometry at a private school for several years prior to moving to Canada in 2002. After the move Elena opened an art studio in Richmond where for several years she was teaching children and adults in oil, pastel and silk painting techniques.

Elena is an active member of Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of Burnaby Artists Guild.
